ROG Gjallar Gaming Soundbar Targets Cinematic Audio for PC and Console Players

ASUS has announced the ROG Gjallar, a premium compact gaming soundbar designed for players who want stronger audio without filling their setup with multiple speakers.

The ROG Gjallar uses a 2.1.2 Dolby Atmos configuration, combining left and right full-range speakers, tweeters, up-firing channels, and a wireless subwoofer. ASUS is positioning the soundbar as an all-in-one option for cinematic gaming audio, clearer voice communication, and easier device switching across PC, console, mobile, and entertainment setups.

It is also aimed at players who want a cleaner desk or TV arrangement. Rather than relying on a traditional speaker system, the Gjallar keeps the main audio hardware in a compact soundbar while using a separate wireless subwoofer for deeper bass.

Dolby Atmos and Wireless Bass Lead the Audio Setup

The headline feature is 2.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound. The upward-firing channels are designed to create a more three-dimensional soundstage, while the full-range drivers and tweeters handle the main audio mix.

For games, that should make environmental detail, positional cues, and larger cinematic moments feel more spacious than a standard stereo setup. The soundbar also comes with a 6.5-inch, 65-watt wireless subwoofer. ASUS says it uses 5GHz connectivity for lower latency and more stable audio transmission, while its slimmer profile should make it easier to place around a desk or living room setup.

Control Hub Adds EQ, RGB, and Built-In Microphones

The ROG Gjallar also includes an audio control hub with a built-in LCD display. Players can use it to adjust EQ settings, playback controls, input sources, and RGB lighting without needing to dig through software menus every time. Preset EQ profiles for gaming, music, and movies are also included.

The control hub houses built-in microphones with Acoustic Echo Cancellation. These are designed to reduce the pickup of speaker audio, teammate voices, and background noise during chats. ASUS also says an AI beamforming algorithm helps capture voice directionally while suppressing ambient sounds such as PC fans and system hum.

HDMI 2.1, USB-C, Bluetooth, and Console Support Are Included

Connectivity is another major part of the pitch. The Gjallar supports USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical input, AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3. It is designed to work across PC, Mac, mobile devices, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles.

HDMI 2.1 support also enables up to 4K at 120Hz pass-through, while eARC supports high-resolution audio and better audio-video synchronisation. A built-in USB hub on the side of the soundbar adds two USB Type-A ports for peripherals, wireless dongles, or external storage.

Settings can be adjusted through ASUS’ web-based Gear Link PC tool or mobile app, including EQ, lighting, microphone options, and other audio controls.

Singapore Availability Is Planned for Mid-Q3

The ASUS ROG Gjallar is scheduled to be available in Singapore from mid-Q3 through islandwide stores. Local pricing has not been announced yet.

For players building a more compact gaming setup, the Gjallar looks like a practical middle ground between TV speakers, headsets, and larger surround systems. The real test will be whether its Atmos performance, microphone quality, and multi-device switching can justify its premium positioning once it arrives locally.
