Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense Celebrates 30 Years
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital are celebrating 30 years of Gran Turismo with a new limited edition DualSense controller, alongside the first part of a substantial Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7.
The DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition launches globally from December 10, with pre-orders opening on October 22 at 10am local time through participating retailers.
Its design takes cues directly from motorsport, combining racing stripes and automotive-inspired graphics with a textured, carbon-fibre-style front plate. Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi described the controller as a celebration of the journey Gran Turismo has shared with players since the series began 30 years ago.
Sony says quantities will be limited, and it continues a busy run of limited edition PlayStation hardware, following recent designs including the LISA Limited Edition DualSense and the Grand Theft Auto VI controllers revealed during September’s State of Play.
GT 7 Spec IV Adds Sportsland Sugo
The anniversary celebrations extend into Gran Turismo 7, with Spec IV Part 1 rolling out on October 15 as a free update. Headlining the new content is Sportsland Sugo, the Japanese circuit joining the game’s track roster alongside six additional vehicles.
Those additions are the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94, Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26, Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23 and Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86.
The update also introduces six new World Circuit events, new Scapes locations, additional Car Viewer functionality and a new Experience mode. Internet access is required for the update, while the newly added cars still need to be acquired using in-game credits.
The update arrives shortly after the series made another regional push through the GT World Series Singapore stop at Marina Bay Sands earlier this month. For now, Sony has only detailed Part 1 of Spec IV, leaving more of the anniversary update still to come.
