Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Sets Up The Next Decade Of The Fog

Dead by Daylight has marked its 10th anniversary with a huge slate of announcements, as Behaviour Interactive used its anniversary celebration to look beyond the game’s first decade and into what comes next for The Fog.

The event took place in Montreal’s Old Port, bringing fans together for panels, meet-and-greets, art showcases, photo opportunities and a full anniversary broadcast. For a live service horror title to reach 10 years is already impressive, but Behaviour Interactive is making it clear that Dead by Daylight is not slowing down.

The latest roadmap includes new licensed Chapters, original Survivor content, a major 2027 visual overhaul, new game modes, curated modding tools, movie updates and several new Collections.

Jason, Terrifier, and The Life Road Lead The New Chapter Reveals

The biggest immediate arrival is Dead by Daylight: Jason, which brings Jason Voorhees into The Fog on June 16 across all platforms. It is one of the most requested horror crossovers in the game’s history, making his arrival a major moment for longtime players.

Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Sets Up The Next Decade Of The Fog

Shortly after, Dead by Daylight: The Life Road launches on June 25. The Survivor-focused Chapter introduces Shane Wiigwaas, an Anishinaabe defence attorney and the game’s first Indigenous Survivor. He arrives with new Perks designed to support and protect fellow Survivors.

August will bring Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin, the game’s first Chapter developed in collaboration with its community. Behaviour has also confirmed Dead by Daylight: Terrifier for November, bringing Art the Clown into The Entity’s Realm.

Looking further ahead, the game will also receive a Chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone in March 2027. Details are still limited, but the reveal gives Behaviour’s narrative-driven spin-off a direct route back into the main game.

A 2027 Visual Overhaul And New Modes

Behaviour Interactive also outlined one of the biggest technical updates in Dead by Daylight history, with a sweeping visual overhaul targeted for 2027. The update is set to rework character models, expand animation capabilities, improve facial animation, and upgrade maps with enhanced lighting, shading, textures, Fog, Mist and a stronger Entity presence.

Dynamic weather is also planned, including light rain, heavy rain and storms. New voice lines for applicable original characters will also be recorded and added over time, giving older characters more expression as the game moves into its next era.

On the gameplay side, Behaviour teased new modes, including 1v1 Mode and a prototype Zombie Mode. The team is also working on sandboxed modding tools, which will eventually allow players to create and share custom Maps, Modes and other community-made experiences.

The upcoming Dead by Daylight movie also received a fresh update during the celebration. Behaviour Interactive Executive Vice President Stephen Mulrooney appeared alongside producer Jason Blum from Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with the team confirming that Thordur Palsson will direct the film. Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick have completed the screenplay.

The film will draw from multiple parts of the Dead by Daylight universe, with locations such as the Macmillan Estate and Greenville mentioned during the update. Behaviour has not yet confirmed a release date for the movie.

Scooby-Doo, Diablo, Silent Hill, and More Collections Revealed

The anniversary showcase also included a wide range of cosmetic collaborations and Collections. The Black Banquet Collection will tie into this year’s Anniversary Event, which runs from June 25 to July 16, while the desert-themed Sunflesh Collection will appear as part of an upcoming Rift.

Behaviour also revealed a new Eddie Legendary Outfit for The Huntress to celebrate Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary, along with an Ice Nine Kills Collection inspired by the band’s Dead by Daylight collaboration.

Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Overhaul

The Walking Dead Collection will expand with Glenn and Negan as Legendary Outfits for Rick, while Silent Hill fans will see a new Legendary Outfit for Cheryl based on Shimizu Hinako from Silent Hill f. Diablo is also coming to The Fog this October, while Scooby-Doo will finally join later this year after years of fan requests.

For Dead by Daylight, the message from its 10th anniversary is clear. Behaviour Interactive is treating the milestone less as a victory lap and more as a new starting point, with more licensed horror, deeper community tools, and major technical upgrades all planned for the years ahead.
