Tides of Annihilation Gamescom Trailer Reveals More of Gwendolyn’s Story
Eclipse Glow Games brought Tides of Annihilation back into the spotlight at Gamescom Opening Night Live, this time putting considerably more emphasis on the story behind its ruined London and Arthurian mythology.
The new Beneath the Veil trailer follows Gwendolyn in the aftermath of the catastrophe that has torn London apart, leaving her struggling to understand both what has happened and the strange powers she has inherited.
It was one of dozens of trailers and announcements packed into the showcase, which we have collected in our full Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 roundup.
Guinevere Pushes Gwendolyn Towards Her New Destiny
The trailer introduces Guinevere, who encourages Gwendolyn to embrace the Fog’s mystical power. Once wielded by King Arthur, that power may now be the key to saving both the shattered remains of London and the otherworldly realm of Avalon from annihilation.
Gwendolyn is hardly embracing that responsibility without hesitation. The story appears keen to explore her uncertainty over whether she is capable of carrying such a burden, alongside her determination to protect her sister and homeland.
That conflict should give Tides of Annihilation something more personal beneath all the towering monsters and spectacular combat that have dominated its previous showcases.
Sir Lancelot Joins the Spectral Knights
The Gamescom trailer also debuts Sir Lancelot, one of the legendary Knights of the Round Table that Gwendolyn can summon during battle.
He joins the growing roster of spectral Knights available to fight alongside her, with each designed around different combat roles and abilities. Eclipse Glow Games has previously confirmed that more than a dozen Knights will feature, allowing players to combine them into different setups during combat.
The new footage shows Lancelot being called into battle for a particularly flashy attack, further reinforcing how central these summoned allies are to Tides of Annihilation‘s combat identity.
Angela Sant’Albano Is the New Voice of Gwendolyn
Eclipse Glow Games also confirmed Angela Sant’Albano as the new voice of Gwendolyn. Sant’Albano takes over the lead role as development continues, describing Gwendolyn as a character driven by her love for her sister and homeland despite constantly questioning whether she is ready for the task ahead. She was most recently the voice actress behind Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem.
Gamescom attendees can also play the first global public demo of Tides of Annihilation at Hall 6, Booth B-050. The demo is running on GeForce RTX 5080 hardware with NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation support. Brazilian Portuguese has also been added to the game’s localisation plans, bringing the total number of languages supported to 11.
Tides of Annihilation is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A release date has yet to be announced.
