Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Samurai Outriders Complete the Roster
Sony, Marvel Games, and Arc System Works have revealed the final team for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, confirming the Samurai Outriders during EVO 2026.
The newly revealed team brings together Ghost Rider, Blade, Loki, and Deadpool, making it one of the game’s strangest character combinations so far. Ghost Rider had already drawn attention when he was first shown, but the full lineup gives the team a much more unpredictable identity than many fans expected.
According to PlayStation Blog, the Samurai Outriders are built around three unpredictable antiheroes joining Ghost Rider. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka also described the group as a set of characters who would not normally come together, which is exactly what makes their story dynamic interesting.
Samurai Outriders Lean Into Chaotic Team Chemistry
Unlike some of the other teams in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the Samurai Outriders are not defined by obvious unity. Ghost Rider, Blade, Loki, and Deadpool all bring very different motives, personalities, and moral lines into the same squad.
That lack of cohesion appears to be part of the point. Arc System Works says the team’s growth and gradual camaraderie will be one of the highlights of Episode Mode, the game’s story campaign. It is a smart angle for a Marvel fighting game. Rather than simply grouping heroes and villains by neat categories, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls seems willing to let strange combinations create their own friction.
Deadpool Brings Fighting Game References Into His Moveset
Deadpool was easily one of the biggest talking points from the reveal trailer. His fourth-wall-breaking personality fits naturally into a fighting game, and Arc System Works appears to be leaning fully into that.
In the trailer, Deadpool steals a fighting game strategy guide, giving him access to moves inspired by legendary fighting games. One gag that quickly caught attention was his version of the Jack-O pose, a direct nod to Guilty Gear Strive and one of Arc System Works’ most recognisable viral moments.
Asgard Stage and July Open Beta Also Revealed
The Samurai Outriders reveal also came with a new Asgard stage. The arena features several recognisable locations from the realm, including the Bifrost Bridge, Observatory, World Tree Yggdrasil, Treasure Vault, and Throne Room.
More importantly, an open beta has been announced for PlayStation 5 and PC. The test is scheduled to run from July 24 to July 26 PT, giving players another chance to try the 4v4 tag fighter before launch. Blade will also be playable during the beta, giving fans an early hands-on look at one of the newly revealed Samurai Outriders.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Launches in August
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Pre-orders are already open through participating retailers, PlayStation Store, and PC storefronts.
With its full roster now revealed, the game is entering its final stretch before release. Between its 4v4 structure, Arc System Works’ visual style, and a roster that now includes one of Marvel’s strangest team-ups, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about fighting games of the year.
