Monster Hunter Outlanders Launch Brings the Hunt to Mobile
A new hunting ground is officially open, with Garena launching Monster Hunter Outlanders today across iOS and Android in Southeast Asia. Licensed and supervised by Capcom and developed by TiMi Studio Group, the free-to-play survival hunting action RPG takes the familiar Monster Hunter formula into Aesoland, a new setting built specifically around mobile exploration and hunts.
The launch follows more than 15 million global pre-registrations, including registrations for the separate mainland China version, and comes a month after we detailed how Monster Hunter Outlanders was adapting its controls and exploration for mobile.
The game is available through the App Store and Google Play from October 29.
Charge Blade Expands the Launch Weapon Roster
One of the final additions revealed before launch is the Charge Blade, bringing the initial weapon roster to eight. The transforming weapon switches between Sword Mode for more defensive, mobile combat and Axe Mode when players want to commit to heavier attacks. It joins the previously revealed Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun and Bow.
Monster Hunter Outlanders also approaches weapons differently through its original Adventurers. Individual characters are paired with particular weapon types and bring their own combat actions, giving character selection another influence over how each hunt plays out.
TiMi has already confirmed that additional weapon types are planned through future updates.

Ruger Aidal Gives Aesoland Its Own Elder Dragon
Aesoland also introduces monsters created specifically for Monster Hunter Outlanders, led by Ruger Aidal. The sun-like Elder Dragon serves as the game’s flagship monster, radiating intense light while influencing the ecosystem around it. We previously took a closer look at Ruger Aidal and the Radiant monsters appearing across Aesoland following their Gamescom reveal.
Those Radiant species are familiar monsters altered by Aesoland’s environmental conditions, with the current roster including transformed versions of creatures such as Rathalos, Diablos and Kulu-Ya-Ku alongside returning series favourites.
Beyond the main story, Free Hunt lets players take on monsters at different difficulty levels, while Arena battles equalise character statistics to place greater emphasis on player execution.
Four Hunters Can Explore Aesoland Together
Players can travel across Aesoland alone or form parties of up to four for larger hunts in Monster Hunter Outlanders. Three kinds of Buddies provide additional support during exploration and combat: the familiar Palico, alongside newcomers Rutaco and Trillan. Their usefulness extends beyond fighting, with Buddies also helping with exploration and building activities.
Movement around Aesoland plays a larger role than in a traditional sequence of isolated hunts, with climbing, swimming, gliding and other traversal mechanics helping players navigate its different regions.
Mobile controls have been designed specifically around those systems, while controller support is available at launch for selected features including hunting, quests and field exploration. TiMi says that functionality will be expanded further after release.

Launch Events Offer Adventurers and Buddies
Garena is marking release with several events throughout the game’s first month. Players can earn up to 400 Recruitment Tickets, alongside SSR Adventurers Pyro and Luka and SSR Buddy Kojiro by taking part in various launch activities.
The Trailblazer Guild event also runs until November 30, encouraging players to create guilds, invite friends and collectively raise their level. Reaching its server-wide target will unlock an exclusive title and stickers for participating players.
More activities will arrive throughout the first month, including an event centred on new Adventurer Midori.
Monster Hunter Outlanders is available now for iOS and Android, beginning another mobile chapter for Capcom’s hunting series alongside the recently surfaced mobile version of Monster Hunter Rise through Netflix.
