You Can Skip Boss Fights in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Death Stranding 2 Will Feature an Option to Skip Boss Battles, with the Context Presented Through Static Images and Text.

Striking the right balance in a video game to appeal to both veteran gamers and newcomers has always been a delicate task. Lean too heavily in one direction, and there’s a risk of alienating the other. For Hideo Kojima and Kojima ProductionsDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, the idea of inclusivity is taking an interesting shape with the option to skip bosses.

Death Stranding 2 is expected to include intense boss battles, some of which have already been teased in the game’s previously released trailers. Giant, otherworldly creatures and tense confrontations will likely provide a cinematic and challenging gameplay experience. However, not everyone will be able to come out on top.

According to a summary from the Koji Pro Radio broadcast, as Twitter user Genki_JPN shared, Death Stranding 2 will include the option to skip boss battles. This feature is designed specifically for players who wish to focus on the story rather than be bogged down by difficult encounters. Rather than simply lowering the difficulty, players who die during a boss fight will be presented with the option to skip the battle entirely.

Players won’t miss out on the story progression tied to these battles either. After skipping a battle, the game will provide static images and text-based descriptions that summarise what would have transpired during the boss fight, much like a visual novel. This ensures the narrative remains intact and coherent, even if a player chooses not to engage in every battle.

However, Kojima Productions has yet to offer more details on how this feature will apply universally across the game. It remains unclear whether all boss fights can be skipped or if it will be limited to certain encounters. Either way, players jumping into Death Stranding 2 will have one more way to see what the game has to offer.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on June 26, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
