Everhood Hunters Is a Co-op Roguelite Spin-off for 2027

Foreign Gnomes has revealed Everhood Hunters, a new entry that shifts the Everhood series into roguelite territory with co op play and run-based progression. It is set to launch on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2027, marking the first roguelite-style project in the franchise after the original Everhood and its follow-up.

The studio is positioning Everhood Hunters as both an evolution and a remix of what fans already associate with the series. Musical battles remain the core hook, but the structure is built around repeatable runs, shifting routes, and systems designed to keep a run feeling distinct even when the fundamentals stay familiar.

Foreign Gnomes also notes the Everhood franchise has now surpassed 700,000 units sold, which helps explain why the team is confident enough to expand the universe sideways rather than simply repeating the same template.

A New Run-Based Structure Built Around Four Hunters

Everhood Hunters will let players choose from four different characters, each built around their own playstyle. From there, runs unfold through branching paths filled with battles, rewards, shops, rest points, elite encounters, and stranger events, with the end goal framed as sealing the root of all evil by solving riddles across the Everhood universe.

Co-op is the headline change. Hunters is designed for side-by-side play, with the studio also highlighting weekly leaderboards, suggesting an ongoing cadence for competitive players who want a reason to return beyond just unlocking new tools. It is an interesting fit for Everhood’s tone, which has always leaned toward the surreal and unpredictable, but it also adds a clear, modern structure that makes each session feel like it has stakes.

Musical Combat Returns with 70 New Tracks and Familiar Favourites

The combat loop still revolves around rhythm, movement, and timing. Players dodge incoming musical energy, build up stored notes, then unleash counterattacks that scale with the energy collected. It is a system that naturally rewards composure under pressure, and it should translate well to a roguelite format where every mistake can cost a run.

Everhood Hunters Behemoth

Foreign Gnomes says the soundtrack includes 70 new compositions alongside returning fan favourites from Everhood and Everhood 2. That is a substantial promise, and one that matters because Everhood’s identity has always been as much about sound and atmosphere as it is about mechanics. If Hunters is meant to be endlessly replayable, the music has to carry variety, not just volume.

Everhood Hunters is confirmed for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch, with a 2027 launch window. Wishlisting is now live on Steam.
