Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Revealed
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have officially announced Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, a new dark Three Kingdoms action RPG launching in early 2027.
Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, the sequel is currently in development for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It will also be available day one through Xbox Game Pass, giving the sequel a broad platform push from launch.
Team Ninja Builds on Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember follows the success of the first title, which has surpassed more than 5 million players worldwide. The first game carved out its own identity within Team Ninja’s action-RPG catalogue by blending Chinese martial arts, Three Kingdoms history, and supernatural horror.
The sequel returns to the late Eastern Han period, a chaotic era where rival warlords fought for power, and the legendary heroes of the Three Kingdoms began to rise. This time, the story follows a nameless champion as they fight across vast battlefields while a phoenix rises from the fires of war.
Chinese Martial Arts and Demons Remain the Core
Koei Tecmo is keeping the sequel focused on evolved Chinese martial arts, battlefield mastery, and clashes with powerful enemies and demonic creatures. While full gameplay details have not yet been shared, the announcement makes it clear that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will continue the first game’s mix of historical fantasy and punishing action RPG combat.
That foundation gives Team Ninja plenty of room to expand. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember was already built around aggressive deflection, fast pressure, morale systems, and larger-than-life boss encounters. A sequel set deeper within the Three Kingdoms conflict could sharpen those ideas while leaning harder into its demon-overrun battlefields.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Returns to Game Pass
To mark the announcement, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is available again on Xbox Game Pass starting today. That gives new players a convenient way to catch up before Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember arrives in early 2027.

The move also makes sense as part of the sequel’s wider Game Pass strategy. With the sequel confirmed for day one Game Pass, Koei Tecmo and Xbox are clearly giving the series another strong push towards a larger audience.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is currently planned for early 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
