Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Series 2027 Is Heading to Singapore
Singapore has been selected to host the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Series 2027, bringing the franchise’s biggest competitive event to the country next year.
Konami Digital Entertainment announced the next host city following the conclusion of this year’s championship in Tokyo, where new world champions were crowned across the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and two Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links formats.
Further details surrounding the Singapore event, including its venue, dates and qualification structure, have yet to be announced. For now, however, local Duelists can start looking forward to seeing some of the world’s best players compete on home soil.
Mario Angelo De Micco Wins the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship
Before attention shifts towards Singapore, there were four championships to settle in Tokyo as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship. Canadian Duelist Mario Angelo De Micco claimed the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game World Championship title after defeating the United Kingdom’s Josh Kelly in the final.
The Master Duel competition was contested as a three-versus-three team event, with South Korea’s Called By Army defeating Glory Future. The winning trio consisted of CER.Sana, real name Minsung Kim, A1.cutesnail, Hyunsoo Lee, and CER.subaduck, Jisuk Kim.
Duel Links Crowns Two More World Champions
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links once again featured separate Speed Duel and Rush Duel competitions. Germany’s Snyffus, Philipp Thomas, defeated Japan’s あしゅ, Eito Sato, to become the 2026 Speed Duel World Champion.
Japan still walked away with a championship of its own, with たく, Takuma Kitamura, emerging victorious in the Rush Duel category. The four competitions brought this year’s World Championship Series to a close at Tokyo Garden Theater, following several days of competition between qualifying Duelists from around the world.
Singapore Takes Over for Yu-Gi-Oh! WCS 2027
Konami has not yet revealed the extent of next year’s Singapore event, but the announcement confirms that the World Championship will move away from Japan for its 2027 edition.
The event traditionally serves as the culmination of competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! across both physical and digital formats, with players earning their places through regional qualification events before competing for a world title. Anyone who missed this year’s action can catch archived broadcasts through the official Yu-Gi-Oh! YouTube and Twitch channels. For Singapore’s community, however, the bigger countdown has already begun.
