Leslie Uggams Says Fallout Season 2 Script Still in the Works, Filming Begins November

The only probable reason you might not have seen Amazon Prime Video‘s Fallout series, which debuted to critical reception earlier in the year, is that you have been in a literal fallout vault. Now, we already know that a second season has been greenlit, but it will still take a while, according to actress Leslie Uggams.

Uggams, who plays Betty Pearson in the show, was speaking to Inverse at New York Comic Con, and shared that there wasn’t much she could say about Season 2, namely because it is still being worked on.

“They hadn’t even written the second script, because I guess nobody knew what was really going to be happening, whether the audience would love it or not,” Uggams says. “So they’re writing it as we speak.” The actress also confirmed that the show will start filming in November, so hopefully, the script will be complete by then.

There are plenty of things to tie up following the conclusion of the first season of Fallout. Not only do we need to see more of Ella Purnell’s Lucy, but for Uggams, the mysterious Pearson is also one character to look out for. She was revealed to be one of the Vault-Tec employees meant to continue the company’s work after the nuclear apocalypse, and as the current Overseer of Vault 33, she is capable of affecting plenty of things.

The first season of Fallout first debuted in April 2024 on Amazon Prime Video, starring Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, Xelia Mendes-Joeditorines as Dane, Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus, Frances Turner as Barb Howard, and more. It brought in plenty of views and interest in the source material, so it is no surprise that we will be seeing more adventures in the Wasteland.
