Xbox Games Showcase – Persona 4 Revival is Real

Atlus Has Finally Confirmed the Remake Project – Persona 4 Revival – with a Super Short Teaser Trailer.

One of the most persistent rumors in the JRPG community has finally been confirmed. Many gamers had long heard whispers of a potential remake project for Persona 4 from Atlus and SEGA. Unlike the re-release of Persona 4 Golden, which delighted PC gamers a few years ago, this remake is believed to feature a full modern overhaul akin to what was done with Persona 3 Reload. That is the case with the arrival of Persona 4 Revival.

The announcement was made during the Xbox Games Showcase, together with a brief teaser. Unfortunately, fans hoping for more concrete details will have to wait a bit longer. The announcement came via a teaser trailer that runs under one minute and only showcases a glimpse of the game’s environment and the protagonist, Yu Narukami, running through the city.

Apart from a new camera perspective, the trailer reveals no further details, be it about gameplay, UI, or story updates. It was also confirmed that the footage is from an early development build.

Kazuhisa Wada, director of P-Studio, the internal ATLUS team responsible for the Persona series, shared that the team is currently hard at work on this project. He expressed the studio’s ambition to make Persona 4 Revival an experience that both newcomers and long-time fans of the series can enjoy.

Alongside the Persona 4 Revival announcement, Wada also confirmed that development on the next Persona title is progressing smoothly. While he didn’t explicitly mention Persona 6 by name, he acknowledged the high expectations from fans around the world and promised the team is working diligently to meet them.

Persona 4 Revival is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Microsoft ecosystem gamers will be able to enjoy the game on day one via Game Pass. However, the release date remains a mystery for now.
