Predator: Killer of Killers Arrives June As Animated Anthology

Why settle for one killer, when you can have a whole collection? Fans of the Predator franchise have much to look forward to with Predator: Badlands arriving in November, but before that, there is a second movie that is approaching even faster. Predator: Killer of Killers will be releasing on June 6 on Disney+/Hulu.

An animated anthology that is being directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who gave us Prey, and Josh Wassung from The Third Floor, the film will revolve around three “of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause.”

Those threats are obviously the Predators, and based on what has been shown, we won’t be dealing with just one of the apex killers, but a whole bunch of them across different time periods. What doesn’t change will be the violence and gore involved, and the trailer has shown off much blood already.

Other than Predator: Killer of Killers, Trachtenberg is also the directorial force behind Badlands, which stars Elle Fanning. This other film will take a different tact, where a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Fanning’s character, Thia, and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

“After Prey became a success, Dan [Trachtenberg] came back and said he didn’t want to do Prey 2,” 20th Century Studios boss Steve Asbell told THR last year. “And we’re like, ‘What do you want to do?’ And he rattled off a bunch of ideas that were really crazy but really cool. We’ve actually done two of them.”

It remains to be seen if this renewed investment in the IP will lead to broader success, but for fans, 2025 will be a year to savour, just like the hunt.
