IGDX 2025: RestoRuzz’s Adorable Take on Cooking, Collaboration, and Controlled Mayhem

IGDX 2025 RestoRuzz

A Burst of Energy at IGDX

The Indonesia Game Developer eXchange (IGDX) has long been a showcase of Southeast Asia’s indie creativity. For restaurant management fans, Dako Games’ showing of RestoRuzz is well worth a look. Amid frantic shouts and tense cooperation, players scrambled to keep digital dishes from collapsing under the pressure — exactly as intended.

“It’s our first time presenting the game publicly,” says Danis Kirana, co-founder and CMO. “We wanted to see how people would react — and they loved the characters. Everyone keeps saying it’s so cute!”

RestoRuzz combines the mayhem of Overcooked with roguelike progression and strategic team management. Playable solo or in local co-op with up to four people, it challenges players to juggle customer orders, prepare dishes, and keep the kitchen running before time runs out.

Adorable Chefs, Serious Pressure

RestoRuzz’s biggest charm lies in its four animal-inspired chefs, each with a distinct backstory and playstyle:

  • Nico, a shark who traded swimming for cooking after an accident.
  • Opie-chan, a multitasking octopus who can do everything at once.
  • Dolphy, a friendly dolphin who wins customers over with charm.
  • Chill, a lazy yet surprisingly meticulous seahorse.

“Each character has different skills and a personality,” Danis explains. “We want players to feel attached to who they pick — not just treat them as avatars.”

Every session becomes a balancing act between chaos and cooperation, whether you are playing solo or with a group. “When we test alone, the timing feels fine,” Danis laughs. “But when four people jump in, everything explodes — and that’s the fun part.”

Built on Collaboration

RestoRuzz’s development reflects Dako Games’ unique roots. With fewer than twenty team members, the studio partnered with vocational high-school students to bring the project to life — a blend of mentorship and experimentation that should be encouraged in the region.

“We focus on both education and fun,” Danis says. “By involving students directly, they learn real development skills — art, animation, even game design. It’s a collaboration between learning and creativity.”

RestoRuzz is targeting Early Access on Steam to gather community feedback. Dako plans to expand it with new levels, recipes, and additional features over time. Merchandise is also in the works. “The IP is strong,” Danis notes. “People already ask about plushies and figurines.”

The Spirit of IGDX

For Dako Games, showcasing RestoRuzz at IGDX was about more than just exposure — it was validation. From their origins in educational games to now creating something built for shared laughter, the studio embodies the collaborative energy that defines Indonesia’s fast-growing development scene.

“It’s fun, it’s teamwork, it’s messy — like any real kitchen,” Danis smiles. “That’s what makes it special.”
