Beast of Reincarnation Details Emma, Koo, and Its Voice Cast

Game Freak and publisher Fictions have shared new details for Beast of Reincarnation during the PC Gaming Show, giving players a closer look at the upcoming action RPG ahead of its August 4 launch.

The update includes a new interview with Game Director Kota Furushima, who discussed the game’s story, combat, worldbuilding, and progression systems. The reveal also confirmed the first wave of the Japanese voice cast, led by Yui Ishikawa as protagonist Emma.

Beast of Reincarnation will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available day one through Xbox Game Pass on console and Windows PC, with physical editions planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Yui Ishikawa Leads the Japanese Voice Cast

Yui Ishikawa will voice Emma, the central figure in Beast of Reincarnation post-apocalyptic journey. She is joined by a wider cast that includes Miyuki Satou, Akio Otsuka, Sumire Morohoshi, Yu Kobayashi, Akira Ishida, Satoshi Mikami, Rina Satoh, and Tetsuo Kanao.

The casting will be key as the game leans heavily on its emotional core. Emma is an outcast known as a Blightborn, living without memories or emotions as she travels through a ruined Japan with Koo, her loyal canine companion.

That bond between Emma and Koo appears to sit at the centre of both the story and combat. Furushima describes Emma as someone searching for the meaning of emotion, while Koo represents a companion who should naturally be her enemy, giving their journey a built-in tension.

Combat Focuses on Emma and Koo Working Together

Beast of Reincarnation is being shaped around what Fictions describes as a one-person, one-dog action RPG. Emma uses sword abilities in real-time combat, while players also command Koo’s techniques for added tactical depth.

That relationship gives the game a distinct combat identity. Rather than simply pairing a protagonist with a passive companion, Beast of Reincarnation is building a strategy around Emma and Koo’s synergy, letting players combine direct swordplay with companion-driven abilities.

The game’s progression systems are also tied to that partnership. As Emma and Koo travel, live, and survive together, their bond grows, unlocking new powers and deepening the sense that companionship is both a narrative theme and a mechanical foundation.

A Harsh Future Japan Shapes the Journey

Beast of Reincarnation Details Emma, Koo, and Its Voice Cast

Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan consumed by blight, Beast of Reincarnation presents a world where dense forests can erupt across wasteland and beauty sits alongside danger. The setting is designed to create both loneliness and reassurance, as Emma and Koo move through a world that is constantly changing around them.

That contrast gives Game Freak’s action RPG a different texture from the studio’s most famous work. Beast of Reincarnation looks darker, stranger, and more solitary, while still holding onto the emotional pull of travelling with a trusted companion.

Beast of Reincarnation can be wishlisted now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S ahead of its August 4 launch.
