Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Brings A Musou Classic Back
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will launch worldwide on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The announcement at the latest State of Play presentation gives longtime fans a clearer look at one of the series’ most important returning entries. The original helped establish many of the systems and battlefield rhythms that would define the Musou formula for decades, from officer progression to large-scale one-versus-1,000 action.
To mark the release date reveal, Koei Tecmo has also released a new game introduction trailer highlighting added story scenarios, updated combat mechanics, customisation systems, and the return of offline two-player play.
New Combat Tools Modernise The Battlefield
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is not merely a visual refresh. Omega Force is adding several combat mechanics designed to give players more control when pushing through dense enemy formations.
Evasion allows players to dodge incoming attacks or pull back from pressure, while Just Evasion rewards careful timing with a counterattack opportunity. Perfect Power Guard adds another defensive option, letting players deflect enemy strikes, stun opponents, and open them up for follow-up attacks.
These additions should make battles feel more responsive without losing the core appeal of classic Warriors combat. The focus is still on cutting through huge armies, but players now have more defensive tools to manage tougher encounters and regain control when surrounded.
Weapon Fusion Adds More Customisation
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered also introduces Weapon Fusion, a system that lets players sacrifice unwanted gear to transfer elemental attributes and skills onto other weapons.
That could give the game a stronger long-term progression loop, especially for players who enjoy optimising officers across multiple modes. Instead of simply replacing weapons as stronger options appear, Weapon Fusion should allow more deliberate builds around preferred characters, elements, and combat styles.
For a remaster of a beloved older title, that kind of system matters. It gives returning players something new to engage with while preserving the familiar structure that made Dynasty Warriors 3 memorable in the first place.
Two Player Split Screen Makes Its Return
One of the greatest fan-pleasing details is the return of the offline two-player mode in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. Players can team up or face off in classic split-screen gameplay across Musou, Free, and VS Modes.
That is a particularly welcome inclusion for a series with strong couch co-op memories. Before online multiplayer became the expected standard, Warriors games were often at their best when shared on the same screen, with both players charging through different parts of the battlefield before regrouping for a major officer clash.

The remaster will also include challenging new scenarios and a large roster of unlockable officers, blending the original story with additional content intended to give returning fans more to uncover.
Pre-Orders and Digital Deluxe Edition Details Confirmed
Pre-orders for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered are now live. Alongside the digital standard edition, Koei Tecmo is offering a Digital Deluxe Edition that includes the base game, 42 weapons, Six Secret Teachings, Wind Scroll, Tiger Amulet, an Officer Concept Art Collection, and 42 retro costumes based on the original title. Players who pre-order before September 30 will also receive the Retro Style Red Hare Saddle bonus item.
For longtime Warriors fans, Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered looks like a carefully expanded revival of a formative Musou release. The real test will be whether its new systems can modernise the experience while keeping the simple battlefield spectacle that made the original so enduring.
