Honkai: Nexus Anima Trademark Registration Points to Next HoYoverse Title

Mihoyo Has Registered the Trademark for Honkai: Nexus Anima in South Korea and the United States.

After the overwhelming success of nearly every gacha game they’ve released — each spanning a diverse range of genres — miHoYo or HoYoverse has shown no signs of slowing down. Through a consistent stream of job postings over the past year, the Chinese developer has made it clear that multiple new projects are in the pipeline. Now, it seems one of their upcoming titles set in the Honkai universe has an official name: Honkai: Nexus Anima.

Following in the footsteps of Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail, the newly registered trademark for Honkai: Nexus Anima appears likely to have revealed the game’s name. The trademark registration was filed simultaneously in South Korea and the United States, signalling the global scope of this new endeavour. Additionally, social media accounts tied to Honkai: Nexus Anima have reportedly begun to surface across different regional platforms, although none have posted any content as of yet.

The name itself, particularly the word ‘Anima’, has sparked a wave of speculation among fans and industry watchers. Many believe that the title hints at a game focused on animal or companion-based RPG gameplay, possibly following a trend set by titles like Azur Promilia, which integrates similar features. This theory has been further fuelled by an earlier recruitment artwork posted by HoYoverse, which fans now believe offers the first visual glimpse into Honkai: Nexus Anima.

While exact details about the gameplay and storyline remain under wraps, the registration of the Honkai: Nexus Anima trademark signals that the project is moving into more concrete stages of development.

In addition to Honkai: Nexus Anima, HoYoverse has also been rumoured to be working on a cosy life-sim game akin to Animal Crossing, tentatively titled Petit Planet. However, as of now, no official visuals or details about Petit Planet have been released. With the Honkai multiverse set to expand once again, fans of HoYoverse have plenty to be excited about shortly.
