No Ubisoft Forward in 2025, Focus on Other Shows

Taking advantage of the Summer Game Fest momentum, many game publishers will once again seize the opportunity to hold their own showcases during this busy summer season. While some events are presented purely in digital format, others host physical gatherings to allow media and attendees to get hands-on experiences with the latest games. However, unlike previous years, Ubisoft will not be joining the fun with an Ubisoft Forward event in 2025.

The news comes from Stephen Totilo, who confirmed that Ubisoft has decided not to hold its annual summer showcase this year. Instead, the French gaming giant will make appearances at other major gaming events, such as IGN Live and the PC Gaming Show, where it will showcase updates and new projects.

Although Ubisoft has not officially provided a detailed explanation for skipping its flagship summer event, Totilo speculates that the decision may be driven by two main factors. First, Ubisoft’s current game library might be too limited to justify an entire standalone event. Second, the company is reportedly in cost-cutting mode following a series of financial challenges in recent years.

Ubisoft Forward, which has been a digital and in-person showcase for the company's games just about every June, isn't happening this year.A company rep tells me Ubisoft will participate in IGN Live (June 7-8) and PC Gaming Show (June 8) and will also be at GamesCom

Despite this absence, Ubisoft has assured fans that they will still be attending Gamescom 2025 in Germany, although they have yet to share details about which titles they plan to bring to the event.

The lack of Ubisoft Forward this year is undoubtedly disappointing news for fans who were hoping for new information about upcoming titles. Many were looking forward to updates on Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the mysterious instalment that brings witchery and historical assassination together, as well as new developments on long-awaited projects such as the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

It would have also been a perfect opportunity to show off the rumoured Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake. While we are at it, might as well have a new Splinter Cell game to really get people excited. Alas, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see what Ubisoft has in store.
