Path of Exile 2: Conquerors of Wraeclast Completes the Campaign
Nearly two years after entering Early Access, Grinding Gear Games is finally preparing to call Path of Exile 2 complete. Revealed during ExileCon 2026, Path of Exile 2: Conquerors of Wraeclast launches alongside version 1.0 on December 11, bringing the full campaign, another playable class and a league built around recruiting armies and laying siege to enemy fortresses.
The release follows our Gamescom hands-on with the Path of Exile 2 1.0 build and Duelist, while Grinding Gear Games had previously confirmed the December 11 free-to-play launch during Opening Night Live.
Acts 5 and 6 Finally Complete Path of Exile 2
The full release introduces Acts 5 and 6, adding 24 new areas, 18 unique bosses and more than 20 special encounters as the conflict with the Twilight Order and the Beast reaches its conclusion. Version 1.0 will ultimately contain 10 playable classes, 26 Ascendancy classes, more than 320 skills, over 400 Unique Items and upwards of 150 endgame maps.
The newly revealed Shadow also joins the roster, giving players another class to build around, while the Duelist receives the new Knight Ascendancy. Buildcrafting is also being expanded. More than 40 new Unique Items are being introduced, over 70 existing Uniques are being reworked, and Grinding Gear Games is revisiting skills, Ascendancies and the passive skill tree.

Those changes build on the substantial endgame revisions already introduced through Return of the Ancients, which restructured several systems ahead of the eventual 1.0 transition.
Conquerors of Wraeclast Turns Players Into Warlords
The accompanying league pushes beyond simply clearing maps and hunting increasingly unpleasant monsters.
Conquerors of Wraeclast lets players recruit armies, construct fortresses and command troops in large-scale sieges. Enemy factions control their own strongholds, leaving players to build enough military power to assault them and gradually establish dominion across Wraeclast.
That gives the league a noticeably different strategic flavour from the core action RPG loop, with progression extending beyond the player’s own character and equipment.
It also arrives alongside the largest complete version of Path of Exile 2 yet, bringing Early Access development together into the version Grinding Gear Games originally set out to build.
Path of Exile 2 Goes Free-to-Play on December 11
Path of Exile 2 launches in full as a free-to-play game on December 11 across PC, Mac, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox. Players who spent Early Access watching systems, classes, and endgame structures evolve will finally get the full six-act journey, while newcomers can enter Wraeclast without the paid Early Access requirement.
After years of development and almost two years of public iteration, Conquerors of Wraeclast is less another update than the point where Path of Exile 2 finally becomes the complete game Grinding Gear Games has been steadily assembling.
