Nintendo Direct June 2026 Brings a Packed Switch 2 Lineup

The June edition of Nintendo Direct featured a busy showcase centred on Switch 2 momentum, returning franchises, major third-party ports, new RPGs, and several surprise announcements.

The presentation leaned heavily on Nintendo Switch 2, but the original Switch was not completely left behind. From The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time returning for a new generation to Star Fox, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Xenoblade Genesis, Kingdom Hearts IV, and a wave of ports, Nintendo used the Direct to make the second half of the year feel much clearer.

Rhythm Heaven Groove

Rhythm Heaven Groove opened the Nintendo Direct with another look at the rhythm series’ return. The trailer showed new minigames, co op play, and an RPG-inspired mode, giving the July 2 launch another strong push.

The game launches on Nintendo Switch and is also playable on Nintendo Switch 2.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 25.

The Switch 2 version will also include optional motion controls, giving players another way to engage with the sequel’s swordplay.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9.

Capcom’s expanded version brings its open-world fantasy RPG to Nintendo’s newer hardware, giving Switch 2 another major third-party title for the autumn lineup. The game/bundle will also come to other platforms.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year following its appearance at the Nintendo Direct.

Like Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the Switch 2 version will feature optional motion controls, giving the action game a new control option for Nintendo players.

Orbitals

Orbitals is a local co-op anime-inspired space adventure launching on September 3.

The game gives Switch 2 another multiplayer-focused title, with a brighter sci-fi tone among the Direct’s heavier RPG and action announcements.

Rayman Legends Retold

Ubisoft is bringing Rayman Legends Retold to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1.

The remake updates one of Ubisoft’s most beloved platformers, while its revamped Kung Foot multiplayer mode will support GameShare locally and online.

Big Walk

Big Walk is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 4.

As showcased at the Nintendo Direct, the co-op adventure game adds another social exploration title to the Switch 2 calendar, built around working together rather than following a traditional solo campaign structure.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet

One Piece: Grand Gourmet turns the anime and manga series into a pixel art restaurant management sim.

Rather than focusing on piracy and battles, players will manage a restaurant, with optional mouse controls. It launches on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23.

Pokémon Pokopia Expansions

Pokémon Pokopia is set to deliver new content, including a free update that lets players explore underwater. A paid Expansion Pass is also planned, with three expansions in total. The first, Bubble Basin, launches in August.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave returned at the Nintendo Direct with new story details, introducing protagonist Cai as he tries to save his imprisoned father.

The next main Fire Emblem title launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, making it one of Nintendo’s biggest strategy releases of the year.

Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet

Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet was revealed as the first chapter of a two-part saga. The sequel will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and is currently planned for spring 2027.

DK Challenge Event

During the Nintendo Direct, the company also announced a DK Challenge Event starting June 9.

Players can take part in challenges across a selection of Donkey Kong games to unlock bonuses, giving the franchise another spotlight moment.

Donkey Kong Bananza Mario Content

Donkey Kong Bananza received new Mario-themed DLC content during the Nintendo Direct.

The update adds various costumes and themes, expanding the crossover flavour of Nintendo’s existing Donkey Kong release.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

The Vampire Survivors-style spin on Jujutsu Kaisen is being developed by the makers of Vampire Survivors, giving the popular anime a very different kind of action game adaptation.

Lords of the Fallen II

Lords of the Fallen II is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in autumn.

The soulslike action RPG had already been confirmed for other platforms, but its Nintendo Direct appearance adds Nintendo Switch 2 to the list.

Lies of P: Complete Edition

Lies of P: Complete Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 6.

The package includes the Overture expansion, making it the full version of Neowiz’s Pinocchio inspired soulslike for Nintendo players.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23.

Capcom’s stylish action game will run at 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes, giving the Switch 2 another major action port early in its lifecycle.

Muramasa: Revenant Blades

Vanillaware’s Muramasa is returning as Muramasa: Revenant Blades for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The updated version of the 2009 action game will include improved 4K visuals, new game modes, added English voice acting, improved localisation, and more. It launches in early 2027.

Xenoblade Chronicles Enhanced Editions

Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are all receiving Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Editions, a big surprise for fans at the Nintendo Direct.

Xenoblade Chronicles is available today and adds high speed vehicles for exploration. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launches digitally on July 30, while Xenoblade Chronicles 3 follows digitally on December 4. Physical versions are planned for a later date.

Xenoblade Genesis

Nintendo also revealed Xenoblade Genesis at the Nintendo Direct, a brand new entry described as a new beginning for the series.

The game launches in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, suggesting Monolith Soft is preparing to take the franchise beyond its current trilogy.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort brings motion controlled sports back to Wuhu Island on October 22.

The game includes Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Jump Rope, Skateboarding, Power Cruising, and Prop Plane flying.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15.

The fantasy survival adventure gives the RuneScape universe another platform, adding to Switch 2’s growing list of online and RPG leaning releases.

Hello Kitty Party Land

Hello Kitty Party Land launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29. The party game features Sanrio characters, board game play, and 40 minigames.

Star Fox

Star Fox launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, and a free demo was also confirmed at the Nintendo Direct, featuring the tutorial and one of the game’s first levels. With the game so close to launch, the demo gives players an immediate way to test Nintendo’s revived space shooter.

Final Fantasy Resonance

Final Fantasy Resonance is a new HD-2D Final Fantasy game coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, and was easily one of the best surprises of the Nintendo Direct.

The game adapts the story and world from the first arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, rather than serving as a direct port of the mobile title.

Pikuniku 2

Pikuniku 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next year.

The sequel brings back the strange, goofy puzzle adventure energy of the original, giving the Direct one of its lighter indie follow ups.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is the next entry in Square Enix’s monster collecting spin off series. The game launches on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3.

The Duskbloods

The Duskbloods received a new update at the Nintendo Direct, with a closed network test planned for this summer.

FromSoftware’s Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive remains scheduled for release later this year, keeping it as one of the most intriguing third party exclusives on the system.

Splatoon Raiders

Splatoon Raiders launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23.

Nintendo also confirmed that a dedicated Splatoon Raiders Direct will air on June 30, with themed Joy-Con 2 controllers coming soon.

Deltarune: Chapter 5

Deltarune: Chapter 5 arrived during the Nintendo Direct, with a release date set for June 24.

The next chapter in Toby Fox’s RPG saga gives Nintendo players another major indie update before the end of the month.

The collection includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III, and the Re Mind DLC. Owners of the Nintendo Switch cloud versions can buy the Switch 2 version at a discount.

Kingdom Hearts IV

Kingdom Hearts IV received a new gameplay trailer during the Nintendo Direct.

The game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although Square Enix has still not confirmed a release date.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake

Nintendo closed with the biggest reveal of the show, confirming that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is being remade for Nintendo Switch 2.

The brief footage showed Link asleep in his home in Kokiri Forest, echoing the opening of the Nintendo 64 classic. Nintendo has not confirmed a specific date yet, but the remake is planned for 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

Nintendo Direct June 2026 Gave Switch 2 a Clearer Roadmap

The biggest takeaway from Nintendo Direct June 2026 is that Nintendo Switch 2 now has a much fuller calendar.

Star Fox, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Splatoon Raiders, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, The Duskbloods, Final Fantasy Resonance, Xenoblade Genesis, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake gave Nintendo’s own ecosystem several strong anchors. Meanwhile, Capcom, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Atlus, Konami, and other partners helped fill the platform with ports, remasters, RPGs, and action games.

It was not just a nostalgia-driven showcase, although Zelda, Star Fox, Rayman, Muramasa, and Kingdom Hearts certainly made that part of the appeal. More importantly, the Nintendo Direct made Switch 2 feel busier, broader, and better supported heading into the rest of the year.
