Red Dead Redemption & DLC Finally Ride Onto PC This October

Red Dead Redemption & Dlc Finally Ride Onto Pc This October

When Rockstar Games make a move, the whole gaming industry tends to take notice, and its latest reveal should make plenty of players happy, especially if their focus is on the PC platform. For the first time in its storied legacy, Red Dead Redemption and the iconic zombie-horror companion story, Undead Nightmare, arrive on PC this October 29.

Coming via Double Eleven, which is the studio well known for its work on the Prison Architect series, this new version of the beloved game will come to the new platform with plenty of bells and whistles. Both classic experiences are delivered together in one single package and feature a range of PC-specific enhancements, including:

  • Native 4K resolution and beyond at up to 144hz on supported hardware
  • Monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9)
  • Full keyboard and mouse support
  • Upscaling technologies support for Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0
  • Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation
  • Adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more

The original Red Dead Redemption first burst onto the scene back in 2010, and is actually set after the events of the more modern Red Dead Redemption 2. We follow the life of John Marston as he sets out to track down the remaining members of the Van der Linde gang and take his revenge. As per the signature style of Rockstar, the adventure is full of twists and turns, combining humour and brevity at the same time, and making a mark in the art of video game storytelling.

Of course, beyond this release of a 14-year-old game on PC, there is also the small matter of Grand Theft Auto 6. Whether that will come to PC at launch is a whole other matter, but if you are on consoles, fingers crossed that it will actually launch sometime in the next two years.
