the Elder Scrolls Iv: Oblivion remastered Finally Revealed, Available Now

After plenty of leaks and speculation, Bethesda Game Studios has finally decided to reveal one of the gaming world’s worst-kept secrets. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is actually real, and more importantly, it is available to play now across Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Players can now explore the iconic world of Cyrodiil with refreshed new visuals and refined gameplay in what is being called a remaster. Working together with Virtuous, Bethesda has modernised the 2006 Game of the Year with visuals running at 4K resolution and 60 FPS.

However, based on initial impressions, many have deemed the game fit to be even called a remake, with the graphical fidelity a particular selling point. The game is running on Unreal Engine 5, with every asset having been remade from scratch, which explains the huge leap in quality. Players stepping into this world will also enjoy a tweaked levelling system, character creation, combat animations, in-game menus, and more that are more in line with modern experiences.

“We’ve modernised a lot, but it’s still the same incredible adventure and the same carefully crafted world,” says Tom Mustaine, Bethesda’s external projects and studio director. “Oblivion was a real defining moment in the series and for how we make games as a studio,” added Todd Howard, studio head at Bethesda.

For the uninitiated, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will task you with stopping the forces of Oblivion from overtaking the land. Step inside a universe filled with interesting stories, encounter a unique cast of characters, join storied guilds, conquer the legendary Arena, and ultimately become the Champion of Cyrodiil. As part of the remaster, The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions have also been included.

If you want more, you can also grab The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition, which includes bonus quests, unique armour, weapons, the infamous horse armour sets, a digital artbook, and the official soundtrack.
