Over the past few years, Square Enix has fully embraced the popularity of NieR Automata, particularly its main protagonists 2B and A2. As a result, the franchise has become one of their most frequently used properties for crossovers. The game continues to be featured as additional content across various genres, from fighting games to gacha titles. And the latest to tap into this is The First Descendant.
NieR Automata has been confirmed as the latest collaboration item for Nexon Games‘ flagship free-to-play title. This announcement was made during a live stream event that also unveiled a host of new content set to arrive in the upcoming Season 3.
Unfortunately for fans hoping for more, the collaboration will only be limited to cosmetic items. Players will be able to equip costumes representing NieR Automata‘s two iconic female characters – 2B and A2. Adding a touch of flair and perhaps staying true to the visual stylings The First Descendant has embraced, the collaboration will also feature a damaged version of 2B’s costume, which notably comes without her signature skirt.
As for The First Descendant‘s upcoming Season 3, Nexon Games has prepared various new content. Players can look forward to the debut of the Hover Bike as a new mode of transportation, alongside the Colossus Field Raid, which will allow parties of up to 8 players to take on massive challenges together.
A new character named Nell is also set to join the roster, accompanied by the introduction of an Ultimate version of the character Luna. In addition to gameplay content, The First Descendant will also introduce a new social feature called the Lounge, providing players with a space to relax and connect with others in the game world.
The First Descendant Season 3 is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2025 across all available platforms, promising an exciting season filled with fresh content and exclusive NieR Automata-themed cosmetics.
